Youtube can be an excellent resource for home learning if used correctly. Here are some recommended channels:
https://www.youtube.com/user/StorylineOnline - This channel features celebrities reading children's books. This can be used in a similar way to how you would do shared reading with your child. Choose a suitable book for your child. Before you begin the video ask your child to predict what the story might be about. Discuss the book and what they think it may be about. Pause the video at various intervals and question the children on what happened etc. When the story is finished discuss with your child why they liked/didn't like it. Ask questions about the story. Perhaps get them to write a sequel, design an alternative cover, draw a picture of their favourite part etc.
https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1 - The Body Coach himself, Joe Wicks has dedicated videos for children's exercises. He is also posting full P.E. Lessons for children for the next few weeks so be sure to check his channel out.
https://www.youtube.com/user/LittleBabyBum - For Junior and Senior Infants, Little Baby Bum has many great videos for learning their nursery rhymes and in recent days they have begun posting new videos on phonics and number.
